Frequently asked questionsabout Convayancing

What is conveyancing, and why do I need it?+
Conveyancing is the legal process of transferring property ownership from one person to another. In Dubai, it involves preparing and verifying documentation, coordinating with the Dubai Land Department, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Without proper legal oversight, errors or missed steps can lead to significant delays or financial losses.
At what point in the process should I involve a conveyancer?+
Ideally, as early as possible, once an offer has been agreed in principle. Involving Clarity at the MoU stage means the legal framework is in place from the start, with no surprises later in the transaction.
Can Clarity help if I'm buying remotely or from overseas?+
Yes. Clarity prepares and attests Powers of Attorney so that a trusted representative can manage the process on your behalf if you're unable to attend the transfer. Remote transactions are handled regularly, and the process is well-established.
How long does the conveyancing process take in Dubai?+
Once all documentation is in order and a transfer appointment is scheduled with the Dubai Land Department, the process typically takes four to six weeks from agreed offer to completed transfer. Timelines can vary depending on mortgage involvement, developer approvals, and DLD availability.
What documents will I need?+
Requirements vary depending on whether you're buying, selling, or transferring, and whether a mortgage is involved. Clarity will provide a full document checklist at the start of your case and guide you through gathering all required documents.
