Frequently asked questionsabout Openhub

What's the difference between a Freezone and a Mainland licence?+
A Freezone licence allows you to operate within a designated zone and internationally, with 100% foreign ownership and simplified setup. A Mainland licence allows you to operate freely across the UAE market, including government contracts and retail locations. The right choice depends on your business activity, where your clients are based, and your long-term plans. Open Hub will assess your situation and recommend the most suitable option.
Can I apply for a Golden Visa through my property purchase?+
Yes. Properties valued at AED 2 million or more qualify for the UAE 10-year Golden Visa, and you can apply even before completing payments on an off-plan purchase. Open Hub manages the full application. If your purchase qualifies, we'll make the introduction at the right moment so you don't miss the opportunity.
How long does it take to set up a company in Dubai?+
A Freezone licence can often be issued within a few working days once documentation is in order. Mainland licences typically take one to two weeks, depending on the business activity and approvals required. Open Hub provides a clear timeline at the outset.
Do I need to be in Dubai to set up a company?+
Not necessarily. Many steps can be handled remotely, and Open Hub regularly works with international clients who complete their company formation before arriving in Dubai. Some stages may require physical presence or a Power of Attorney; Open Hub will advise on what applies to your situation.
What ongoing support does Open Hub provide after setup?+
Open Hub acts as a long-term operational partner, offering licence renewals, accounting, VAT, PRO services, visa processing, bank account support, insurance, and more. Most clients use them well beyond the initial setup.
