If you’re driving along Dubai’s Sheik Zayed Road, by now you’ve probably noticed an impressive oval-shaped building right next to DIFC. Yep. That’s the most beautiful building in the world right now! Museum Of The Future is Dubai’s latest and hottest cultural landmark and for good reasons; it’s dedicated to exploring the threats and opportunities of our time – for a better future, no less.

The iconic Museum Of The Future, let by His Highness Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has finally opened its doors to the public on the 22nd of February, 2022. Yes, 22.2.22! The museum has already been named one of the 14 most beautiful museums in the world.

Designed by Killla Designs, this masterpiece has several unique features:

•  Computer-controlled machining tools to cut an estimated 1,000 molds that support the fiberglass and stainless steel frame.
• The museum also explores the future of biodiversity and sustainability. Powered by 4,000 megawatts of solar energy in collaboration with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, the museum will be the first of its kind in the Middle East to obtain a Platinum Certification for Leadership in Environmental Energy and Design, the highest rating for green buildings in the world! The garden has over 100 plant species reflecting UAE’s rich heritage. 
• The urban icon is engulfed in 14 kilometers of Arabic calligraphy designed by Emirati artist Mattar bin Lahej and spelling out some of Sheikh Mohammed’s most iconic quotes

Here is everything you can expect to see when you visit the Museum Of The Future:

No PRC test or proof of vaccination is needed for entry. Th experience time on average is expected to be two to three hours.

The Museum is all about giving visitors an immersive experience. Guests to the museum begin by taking an elevator to a makeshift space station. Looking out over the earth, they are then presented with a problem: the earth is sick. Each visitor has a role to play (doctor, teacher) and is tasked with unpacking the world’s problems.

According to Brendan McGetrick, the museum’s creative director, providing that kind of immersive experience is exactly what makes the institution unique.

Ever thought about mind-reading implants? or weight loss pills? Yes, both are possible! And visitors can view prototypes of these futuristic technologies. The Tomorrow and Today exhibition, in collaboration with public and private partners, explores how designers, researchers, and corporations are responding to today’s most urgent challenges.

Another fun experience is an exhibition about taking a look at how the moon could be transformed into a source of renewable energy for the planet! Vistors can also experience a mixed reality recreation of the Amazon rainforest featuring several different species.

And for the little ones, the Museum of the future has a children’s area which allows young visitors to experience and partake in activities inspired by video games to encourage forward-thinking and creative problem-solving.

The museum is set to open up a small merchandise shop with futuristic designs and a membership program so residents can visit several times. 

The Museum of the future is not only a show and tell place. It is a platform of education and discovery! They aim to regularly host a series of talks and events where innovators, scientists, and prominent figures from leading industries share their vision of the future.
